It is a beautiful sunny day here in Chicago and I am hunkered down crafting! Oh yea. I have snuck out to let the dog out and I will admit it was refreshing!
Craft: Crochet
I remember when I would see crochet I would think...its old looking ....I don't want to make no Granny Square! Crochet can be beautiful enough to suit any style.
FO-Finished Objects
I did finish my the Elise Shawl!
I originally added this shawl to my favorites list on Ravelry in 2011. I was still new to crochet but I thought this loveliness was just beautiful. Three years later I still feel the same way :). This was one of those opportunities where when you walk away, revisit it and your work through that thing like lightening. That is exactly what happened here! After seeing the pattern I wanted to make this just like the designer. I purchased the yarn from Little Knits, who has AWESOME sales. The way the pattern was writing was visually confusing to me. I took the pattern and copied each sentence and put them each one one line. I needed to break it up. Once I got to the 5 and 6 row repeat I was good to go. Blocking and exaggerating the points as the pattern suggest makes this shall come come to life. This also would make a killer gift!
Yarn Review
Madelinetosh Pashmina
Retail $31
It was a joy to work with this merino, cashmere and nylon blend. Extremely soft on the hands and worked into simply great fabric.
Toodles!
