I like cute nice things? Do you? I do a lot of crafting in public, on the train, bus, car, DMV...you get my drift. I like to keep productive and busy when I have dead brain time. I like to bring cute bags whether its my purse or a project. Now being a sewer, note not a seamstress it sometimes presents a challenge to the cost effectiveness of making purchases. Since I am a DIYer I love to shop ETSY, Artfire and independent small business.
Most recently I purchased this Heather Ross Large Box Set From PiddleLoop Sewing Team. I heard about them from the KnitGirllls.

The bag was nicely folded flat.
Cha-Ching.
I eagerly opened the bag and wondered why it smelled a little like....old lady? To my surprise there was a goody bag filled with laffy taffy candy and 2 lifesavers mints. That was the smell. Gave those to my husband and that was that. What a cute gesture too.
How cute is that zip lock bag! |
My only negative is the Grosgrain ribbon which I knew when I purchased this that the handle was ribbon instead of fabric. For me as a traveling knitter/crocheter I use that handle the most so I will have to see its endurance throughout this year.
I examined the bag for the grommet hole for a brief moment I though crap I was too late...nope there is was...yay. I thought the construction was well made, lined nice seams too.

You ask why would you buy a bag if you can sew:
Time.-Are you busy do you have time to make a bag?
Cost of Fabric-some upholstery/Themed fabric can be cheaper to have someone else pay shipping and do the labor.
Can't find the fabric!

Bags are lined, pockets
Because you can afford it! Tadah!
I will continue to buy bags and sew them as well. I have purchased my fabric but that will be a post for another time :).
Happy Shopping or Selling!
Toodles!
